Expanding AI transparency in ads
Source: Google Date: 2026-07-09 URL: https://blog.google/products/ads-commerce/google-ads-ai-transparency-labels/
Summary
Google is adding a “How this ad was made” panel to My Ad Center (Search, YouTube, Discover) disclosing whether an ad was created or edited with AI. Ads made with Google’s own generative tools are labeled automatically; advertisers using other AI tools must self-disclose through a new control, with on-ad labels appearing where local regulation requires them.
Implications
- AI adoption in enterprise. A compliance surface is forming around AI-generated content in regulated channels (advertising) ahead of, or in step with, regulation — enterprises running AI in marketing pipelines now have a disclosure obligation to track, not just a capability to adopt.
- Peripheral to the model/harness threads this radar tracks day to day, but worth a line: it’s a data point that platform-level AI provenance labeling is moving from voluntary/experimental to a standard product surface.
