Summary

Google introduced an optional “selfie for sign-in” account-recovery method: users record a guided head-movement video during setup, then a fresh selfie video at sign-in is matched against it, with liveness detection to resist static-photo and deepfake spoofing. Videos are encrypted at rest, deletable at any time, and used only for authentication unless the user opts in to other uses.

Implications
