Cursor shipped five Google Workspace plugins (Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets) that let its coding agents search, read, and write across a user’s Workspace account directly from the editor, installed via the Cursor Marketplace or the Customize page.

Implications

• credential-broker/hold-less: another coding agent gaining standing OAuth-scoped access to email, calendar, and file content as a plugin toggle rather than a per-action grant — worth watching against tools moving the opposite direction (see the Claude Code v2.1.221 signal in this same batch, which adds sandbox credential masking so the agent process never holds the real secret).
• agent-orchestration: coding agents are absorbing broader “personal assistant” surface area (mail, docs, scheduling) beyond the codebase itself — a scope-creep pattern worth tracking across vendors, not just Cursor.
