Summary

Google’s first item tracker, Pixel Tag, launches November 11 at $29 (single) / $99 (4-pack) — stainless-steel, IP67-rated, user-replaceable battery rated for a year, and finding powered by Google’s Find Hub network (crowdsourced across “over one billion Android devices”) with Ultra-Wideband plus Bluetooth Channel Sounding for precision distance cues. It integrates with Pixel Watches and Buds via Gemini voice control and supports sharing across up to 10 people.

Implications

Pure consumer-hardware entry, not an AI-capability signal, though it leans on the same billion-device Android install base as the same-week Gemini 1B-MAU milestone — Google increasingly treats “size of the fleet” as the moat across both AI distribution and physical-tracking network effects. No direct feed into the tooling/model-capability threads this project tracks; noted for completeness of the Google Pixel-week cluster.
