Summary

Pixel 11 Pro launch feature “HiLight”: color-coded ambient lights on the back of the phone that indicate Gemini’s listening/processing/responding state, plus custom caller-ID colors for important contacts, so users get glanceable status without picking up the phone.

Implications

Minor consumer-hardware signal, logged for completeness rather than feeding a specific landscape thread — an ambient-status affordance for an on-device assistant, part of the broader pattern of AI assistants growing dedicated hardware surfaces rather than staying screen-bound.
